Since 1974
Established in London
A legacy of trusted delivery
Five decades of changing markets, changing travellers and changing technology. The standard has never changed.
1974
Interopa is founded
Interopa is established in London with one clear purpose: to create memorable journeys for visitors to Britain. Personal relationships, service and trust are its foundations, and they have never moved.

1980s
Travel made across a desk
Before the internet, plans were made across desks, not screens, and every itinerary was shaped through real conversation. The friendships formed with partners in these years are still valued today.

The Queens Award for Export Achievement
On 21 April 1989, by Royal Warrant, Interopa Holidays Ltd is honoured for the furtherance of the export trade of the United Kingdom. The award is given at the Court of St James under the Royal Sign Manual and countersigned by the Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher. The same year, Paddington becomes our home.

Britain opens up
As easyJet and Ryanair open up travel to a far wider audience, Interopa adapts quickly and welcomes new markets to Britain. In 1997, the year the first Harry Potter book is published, we are named Export Times Exporter of the Year.

Sport becomes a speciality
By 1999, Interopa Sport is central to our craft: reliable, personal support for professional teams visiting the United Kingdom, built on a hands on approach and a deep understanding of what athletes and staff need. Meanwhile, London prepares for the Millennium Experience.

Many languages, one standard
Our team has long been multinational and multilingual, giving clients cultural insight as well as logistics. We introduce dedicated services for Spanish and Italian speaking visitors, from guided excursions to the thrill of a football match.

Our clients come from all over the world, but Paddington has been our home since 1989. It is where we welcome clients and meet partners, and when you ring our office, Paddington still answers.

Thirty years
In our thirtieth year we write to our partners: a privately owned company, established in November 1974, working only with tour operators, wholesalers and travel agents, and the only UK inbound tour operator to have won the Queens Award for Export Achievement twice.

A family, by birth and by choice
Interopa is genuinely family run. Some of us were born into it and some of us were chosen, and we stand behind one another in the office and well beyond it.
